Slipping off to conduct an interview this afternoon with a charming finance officer (something out of a Bennett play) has led to my blog being left off Westminster Journalism's list of student blogs. Well, I say list, there are three. And they're all very good.

However, I had thought an interview in the field in worth two in the virtual bush. At least I thought so. Now, having seen Epic 2015 I'm not so sure.

I have been learning Final Cut Pro all evening with a tired and patient colleague. The thought of being able to put together my first few bits of vid journalism at once excites me but also frustrates as I envisage the leads, bleeds, sweat and technology tears that lie between me and one three minute piece of ephemera.

However, the interviews I shall undertake over the next few days will prove a test of my mettle and of the willingness of myself and my colleagues to hold out hands and not stamp on heads.

DDG asked me today 'are you in a good place?' (referring to an impending online project deadline). It's interesting, David.

it definitely is an interesting place... FCE is really a fascinating experience...
but tedious and frustrating...
